Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup long-grain rice (white or brown)
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric (optional for color)

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, heat butter or olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add rice and toast for 2 minutes until slightly golden.
  • Pour in broth and add salt, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, paprika, parsley, and turmeric.
  • Stir well, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
  • Cover and simmer for 18-20 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  • Remove from heat and let it rest, covered, for 5 minutes.
  • Fluff with a fork and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use fresh herbs for extra flavor.
  • Substitute butter with olive oil for a dairy-free option.
  • Adjust seasonings to taste.
