- 1 cup long-grain rice (white or brown)
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tbsp butter or olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley
- 1/4 tsp turmeric (optional for color)
In a medium saucepan, heat butter or olive oil over medium heat.
Add rice and toast for 2 minutes until slightly golden.
Pour in broth and add salt, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, paprika, parsley, and turmeric.
Stir well, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
Cover and simmer for 18-20 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
Remove from heat and let it rest, covered, for 5 minutes.
Fluff with a fork and serve hot.
