- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp milk
- ¼ tsp salt
- Optional: sprinkles, chocolate chips, or other mix-ins
Heat-treat the flour: Spread the flour on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes. Let it cool completely before using. Cream the butter and sugars: In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar. Beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and milk: Stir in the vanilla extract and milk until well incorporated. Mix in the flour: Gradually add the heat-treated flour and salt, mixing until smooth.
