Ingredients
  

For Caramel:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water

For Custard:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 can (400 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (400 ml) evaporated milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, heat sugar and water over medium heat until it melts and turns golden brown. Quickly pour into a baking dish, coating the bottom evenly.
  • In a blender, combine eggs, condensed milk, evaporated milk, vanilla, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  • Pour the custard over the caramel in the dish. Place the dish inside a larger baking tray filled with hot water.
  • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 60 minutes or until set.
  • Let it cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  • Run a knife around the edges, invert onto a plate, and enjoy the caramel-coated flan.
