Ingredients
  

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1¼ cups milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter or oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the egg with milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
  • Gently combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  • Heat a lightly greased griddle or non-stick pan over medium heat.
  • Pour batter onto the pan and cook until bubbles form on the surface.

Notes

  • Batter should be thick but pourable.
  • Small lumps in batter are normal.
