- 1 pound ground pork (or a mix of pork and beef)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp dried thyme
- 1 tbsp dried sage
- 1/2 tbsp ground nutmeg
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup chicken or beef broth
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Prepare the Ingredients: Chop the onion and garlic finely. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the Meat:Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, sautéing until translucent. Add the ground pork and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season the Mixture: Stir in thyme, sage, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked meat mixture with breadcrumbs, broth, and the beaten egg. Mix until well combined. Bake the Stuffing: Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, until golden brown on top. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm as a side dish or stuffing
