For the Beef Marinade
- 450 g flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
For the Stir Fry
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, julienned or grated
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup green beans or broccoli florets
For the Sauce
- ¼ cup beef stock or water
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
In a bowl, combine beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and black pepper. Marinate for 10 minutes.
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a wok or skillet over high heat. Stir-fry beef until just cooked; remove and set aside.
Add remaining oil to the pan, then add ginger and garlic. Stir-fry until fragrant.
Add onion and bell pepper; cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly tender.
Mix sauce ingredients and pour into the pan.
Return beef to the pan and toss until sauce thickens and coats everything evenly.
Serve hot with steamed rice.
