Ingredients

  • 2 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
  • 2 inch piece of fresh turmeric root, peeled and chopped (or 1 tsp ground turmeric)
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • Prepare the Ingredients:
Wash and peel the ginger and turmeric roots. Chop them into small pieces for easy blending.
  • Blend:
Add the ginger, turmeric, lemon juice, honey (if using), and water to a blender. Blend until smooth.
  • Strain:
Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a glass or jar to remove the pulp.
  • Heat (Optional):
For a warm shot, gently heat the strained liquid over low heat. Do not boil, as this can reduce the potency of the nutrients.
  • Serve:
Pour the liquid into a shot glass or small cup and drink immediately.
  • Store:
If you make a larger batch, store the ginger turmeric shot in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Shake well before serving.
