For Meatloaf:
- 500g ground beef (or mix of beef & pork)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- ½ cup milk
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp black pepper
For Glaze:
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
- 1 tsp mustard
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a baking dish or loaf pan.
Mix ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, and mustard until smooth.
Bake the meatloaf for 30 minutes. Remove and spread glaze evenly on top.
Return to oven and bake for another 20 minutes until cooked through and glaze is caramelized.
Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
