- 1 cup sugar (divided)
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Toss peaches with 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
Pour melted butter into a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk until smooth.
Pour batter over butter without stirring.
Spoon peaches evenly on top of batter. Do not mix.
Bake for 40–45 minutes until crust is golden brown and bubbly.
Serve warm, optionally with ice cream.
- Fresh peaches give the best flavor, but canned or frozen work too.
- Do not stir batter and fruit; it creates the cobbler’s signature crust.
- Adjust sugar based on peach sweetness.
- Serve warm for the best experience.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated.
