  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Marinade:In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. This creates a flavorful marinade for the chicken.
  • Marinate the Chicken:Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring that each piece is coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or ideally, up to 4 hours for maximum flavor.
  • Preheat the Grill:Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Make sure the grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.
  • Grill the Chicken:Remove the chicken from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Place the chicken on the preheated grill. Grill each side for about 5-6 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken is cooked through.
  • Baste with Marinade:During the last few minutes of grilling, brush the chicken with some of the reserved marinade. This adds extra flavor and creates a glossy finish.
  • Check for Doneness:To ensure the chicken is fully cooked, make a small cut in the thickest part. The juices should run clear, and there should be no pink in the center.
