- 4 slices of bread (sourdough or white bread)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of cheeses)
- 2 tbsp butter
Optional fillings:
- tomato, jalapeños, ham, garlic powder, herbs
Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
Butter one side of each bread slice.
Place ½ cup of shredded cheese in the skillet, forming a circle.
Immediately place one slice of bread, butter-side up, over the cheese.
Add cheese and the second slice of bread on top; flip when the bottom is crispy.
Add another layer of cheese to the skillet and place the flipped sandwich on top.
Cook until both sides are golden, crispy, and the inside is fully melted.
Slice and serve hot.
