Ingredients
  

  • 1 large grapefruit (halved)
  • 60 ml tequila (blanco or reposado)
  • 15 ml fresh lime juice
  • 10–15 ml agave syrup (optional)
  • Sparkling water or grapefruit soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Salt or chili salt for rim
  • Grapefruit wedge or rosemary sprig (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  • Place grapefruit halves cut-side down on the grill.
  • Grill for 3–5 minutes until lightly charred and caramelized.
  • Let cool slightly, then squeeze the grilled grapefruit juice into a shaker.
  • Add tequila, lime juice, and agave syrup.
  • Shake well with ice.
  • Rim a glass with salt or chili salt and fill with ice.
  • Strain the mixture into the glass.
  • Top with sparkling water or grapefruit soda.
  • Garnish and serve immediately.
