For Gulab Jamun
- 1 cup milk powder or khoya
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons ghee or butter
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 4–5 tablespoons milk
- Oil or ghee for frying
For Sugar Syrup
- 1½ cups sugar
- 1½ cups water
- 3 cardamom pods
- 1 teaspoon rose water (optional)
- Few saffron strands (optional)
Prepare Syrup
Add sugar and water to a pot.Boil for 5–7 minutes.Add cardamom and rose water.Keep syrup warm.
Make Dough Mix:
Milk powderFlourBaking sodaAdd ghee and milk.Knead into soft dough.
Fry
Heat oil on low flame.Fry balls slowly.Cook until golden brown.
Soak
Place hot gulab jamun in warm syrup.Soak for 1 hour.
