- 500 g ground beef
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp oregano
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 can (400 g) diced tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup beer (lager or amber)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 can (400 g) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (400 g) black beans, drained and rinsed
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add onion and bell pepper; sauté until soft. Add garlic and cook briefly.
Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart. Drain excess fat if needed.
Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Add tomato paste and cook for 1–2 minutes.
Pour in beer and simmer for 3–4 minutes to reduce slightly.
Add diced tomatoes, beef broth, and beans. Stir well.
Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 45–60 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Adjust seasoning and serve hot.
