- 500 gram boneless chicken (breast or thighs), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey (or brown sugar)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp minced ginger
- tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (for thickening)
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Prepare the sauce: In a bowl, mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
Cook the chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown and fully cooked (about 6–8 minutes).
Add the sauce: Pour the hoisin sauce mixture over the chicken and stir to coat evenly.
Thicken the sauce: Mix cornstarch with water, then stir into the pan. Simmer until the sauce thickens (about 2 minutes).
Garnish & serve: Sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with rice or noodles.
