Homemade Cranberry Bacon Jam Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 large onion, finely diced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and drain excess grease, leaving about 2 tablespoons in the pan.
  • Add the diced onion to the pan and cook until soft and caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  • Stir in the cranberries, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, and balsamic vinegar.
  • Return the cooked bacon to the pan and mix well.
  • Simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes until the mixture thickens and the cranberries break down.
  • Season with black pepper and salt to taste.
  • Let the jam cool slightly before transferring to a jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Use fresh or frozen cranberries for the best flavor.
  • Adjust sweetness with more or less brown sugar to your taste.
