Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Bread slices, tortilla chips, or crackers for serving

Instructions
 

  • In a skillet, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté until softened.
  • Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar.
  • Add chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer 10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat and mix in cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  • Stir in half the shredded cheddar until melted.
  • Transfer to a baking dish, top with remaining cheese.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes until bubbly.
  • Serve hot with bread, tortilla chips, or crackers.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to prevent excess grease.
  • Add jalapeños for a spicy kick.
  • Use Monterey Jack cheese for a milder flavour.
  • Serve in a slow cooker to keep warm for parties.
  • Leftovers make an excellent topping for baked potatoes.
