Ingredients
  

  • 1 box white or yellow cake mix
  • Ingredients listed on cake box (eggs, oil, water)
  • 1 box flavored Jello (strawberry, cherry, raspberry, etc.)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 tub whipped topping (Cool Whip)
  • Fresh fruit or sprinkles (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Bake cake according to package instructions in a 9×13-inch pan.
  • Let cake cool for about 10 minutes.
  • Poke holes all over the cake using a fork or wooden spoon handle.
  • Dissolve Jello in boiling water, then stir in cold water.
  • Slowly pour Jello over the cake, letting it fill the holes.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  • Spread whipped topping over the cake before serving.
  • Garnish with fruit or sprinkles if desired.
