Jollof Rice – The Iconic West African Tomato-Spiced

Shruthi
Jollof Rice is a flavorful one-pot rice dish cooked in a rich tomato and pepper sauce with aromatic spices. It is widely popular across West Africa and served at celebrations and everyday meals. The rice absorbs the bold flavors of onions, garlic, peppers, and seasonings as it cooks slowly in the tomato base. The dish is known for its bright red color and smoky taste. Jollof Rice pairs perfectly with grilled meats, fish, or fried plantains. Its comforting flavor and cultural significance make it one of Africa’s most famous dishes.
