Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fruit preserves (apricot, raspberry, or your favorite)
  • Additional powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then mix until combined. Gradually add the flour and mix until a dough forms.
  • Chill the Dough:
Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll and Cut the Dough:
On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Use a round cookie cutter or a glass to cut out circles.
  • Add Filling:
Place the circles on the prepared baking sheet. Add a small spoonful of fruit preserves to the center of each circle. Fold opposite edges over the filling, slightly overlapping.
  • Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Cool and Dust:
Let the pastries cool on a wire rack, then dust them with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Ensure the dough remains cold for easier handling and better baking results.
