  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 1/4 cups M&M candies, divided
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then mix until fully combined.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips, 1 cup of the M&M candies, and the nuts if using.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  • Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk lightly over the top for added richness.
  • Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup M&M candies over the batter.
  • Bake for 22 to 25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is just set.
  • Cool completely in the pan before slicing into bars.

  • Do not overbake the bars if you want a soft and chewy texture.
