- 1 bottle (750 ml) dark rum
- 1 cup red wine
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 pre-packaged Mamajuana herb mix (available online or at specialty stores)
- Optional: cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, or ginger for added flavor
Rinse the Mamajuana herb mix thoroughly with warm water to remove any impurities.
Place the herbs in a clean glass jar or bottle large enough to hold all ingredients.
Pour in the red wine, ensuring the herbs are fully submerged. Let the mixture sit for 1-2 days to season the herbs.
After 1-2 days, discard the wine (this step removes bitterness from the herbs).
Add the dark rum, honey, and fresh red wine to the jar with the seasoned herbs.
Seal the jar or bottle tightly and shake gently to combine.
Allow the mixture to infuse for at least 5 days, shaking occasionally.
Once infused, strain the Mamajuana into a clean bottle, discarding the herbs if desired, or leave them for continued infusion.
Serve chilled or at room temperature. Enjoy responsibly!
