Ingredients

  • 4 cup fresh broccoli florets
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds (optional)
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on a paper towel, then crumble.
  • In a large bowl, combine the broccoli florets, cooked bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and red onion.
  • In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and sugar until smooth.
  • Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture and toss until well coated.
  • If using, add sunflower seeds and dried cranberries for extra texture and flavor.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 10 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to blend.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, substitute Greek yogurt for mayonnaise.
  • You can make this salad a day in advance; just wait to add the bacon until right before serving to keep it crispy.
