  • 1/2 Cup Milk (or more as needed)

  • Add the butter, milk, salt, and pepper to the pot with the potatoes.
  • Using a potato masher or an electric mixer, mash the potatoes until they reach your desired consistency. Add more milk if needed to achieve the desired creaminess.
  • Taste the mashed potatoes and adjust the seasoning according to your preference.
  • Transfer the mashed potatoes to a serving dish and garnish with a pat of butter or chopped fresh herbs, if desired.
