- 3 cups canned baked beans (or pork and beans)
- 6 strips bacon (chopped)
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a pan, cook chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, sauté onions in bacon fat until soft.
In a large bowl, combine baked beans, brown sugar, barbecue sauce, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and pepper.
Stir in cooked bacon and sautéed onions.
Transfer mixture to a baking dish.
Bake uncovered for 45–60 minutes until thick and bubbly.
Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
