Ingredients

For the Meatloaf:

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For the Ghost Mashed Potatoes:

  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup milk or cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Edible candy eyes or peppercorns for decoration

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or baking sheet.
  • In a bowl, mix ground meat, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  • Divide mixture into small portions and shape into mini loaves or press into muffin tins.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes until fully cooked.
  • Meanwhile, boil potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Transfer mashed potatoes to a piping bag fitted with a round tip.
  • Pipe ghost shapes on top of each mini meatloaf.
  • Add candy eyes or peppercorns to complete the ghost faces.
  • Serve warm with extra ketchup or gravy.

Notes

  • Ground turkey works as a leaner alternative to beef.
  • Mashed potatoes must be firm enough to hold their ghost shape.
  • Use a muffin tin for uniform mini loaves.
  • Candy eyes make them fun for kids but peppercorns are a savory option.
  • Serve with roasted veggies for a complete Halloween meal.
