Mini Rose Apple Pies are beautiful individual apple pastries shaped like roses.Thinly sliced apples create delicate flower-like layers.Puff pastry provides a buttery, flaky, golden crust.Cinnamon, sugar, lemon, and butter add delicious flavor. They are easy to prepare with simple baking ingredients.Serve warm with powdered sugar, caramel sauce, or vanilla ice cream.
Wash the apples thoroughly and cut them in half. Remove the cores and slice the apples into very thin half-moon shapes. Keep the skin on because the red edges give the finished pastries their beautiful rose-like appearance.
Add the apple slices, lemon juice, and water to a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for approximately 2–3 minutes until the slices become flexible but do not fall apart.Alternatively, gently warm them in a saucepan for a few minutes. Drain the slices and allow them to cool slightly.
In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Mix well and set aside. This mixture will add warmth and sweetness to the apple layers.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly dust your work surface with flour and unfold the thawed puff pastry.Roll it gently into a rectangular sheet and cut it into six long strips, approximately 2 inches (5 cm) wide.
Place the softened apple slices along the upper edge of each pastry strip. Arrange them slightly overlapping, with the rounded red edges extending above the pastry.Brush the apples lightly with melted butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Fold the bottom half of each pastry strip upward to cover the lower portion of the apple slices. Starting at one end, carefully roll the pastry into a spiral. The exposed apple edges should form the petals of a rose. Gently pinch the pastry at the bottom to help each rose hold its shape.
Grease a six-cup muffin tin with butter or cooking spray. Place each rose-shaped pastry into a muffin cup.Adjust the apple slices gently if needed to create an attractive flower shape. Brush the pastry edges with a little melted butter
Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven. Bake for approximately 25–30 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown. If the apple edges begin browning too quickly, loosely cover the tops with aluminum foil for the remaining baking time.
Remove the pies from the oven and allow them to cool in the muffin tin for approximately 5–10 minutes. If desired, gently warm the apricot jam and brush a little over the apple petals to create a beautiful glossy finish.
Carefully remove the mini pies from the muffin tin. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the top and add a little cinnamon if desired.Serve warm or at room temperature with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or caramel sauce.
