- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (or flavor of choice)
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in Mix-Ins: Gently fold in the chocolate chips or any desired mix-ins. Shape the Dough: Scoop out large balls of dough (about 1/4 cup each) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving ample space between each cookie. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are slightly underbaked. Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
