Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or oil
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 2 tbsp sugar, 2 tsp baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk 1 cup milk, 1 egg, and 2 tbsp melted butter.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease.
  • Pour ¼ cup batter for each pancake and cook until bubbles form, then flip and cook until golden.
  • Serve warm with butter, syrup, or toppings of choice.

Notes

  • Don’t overmix the batter; lumps make pancakes fluffier.
  • Let the batter rest for 5 minutes before cooking.
  • Cook on medium heat to avoid burning the outside while keeping the inside soft.
  • Add blueberries, bananas, or chocolate chips for variety.
  • Serve warm with butter, syrup, or your favourite toppings.
