Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups panettone (cubed)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for greasing)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).Grease a baking dish with butter.
  • Place cubed panettone evenly in the dish.
  • In a bowl, whisk milk, cream, sugar, eggs, and yolks.
  • Add vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Pour custard over bread, pressing gently to soak.
  • Let sit for 10 minutes.
  • Bake for 40–45 minutes until set and golden on top.
  • Cool slightly and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use slightly stale panettone for best absorption.
  • Do not oversoak to avoid sogginess.
  • Add extra fruits or chocolate for variation.
  • Bake until center is just set.
  • Let rest before serving for better texture.
  • Use whole milk for richness.
  • Cover with foil if browning too quickly.
  • Store leftovers refrigerated.
