Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • 5 cups sliced fresh or drained canned peaches
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the Crisp Topping:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Instructions

  • Preheat and Prepare Filling
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine peaches with sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Pour the mixture into a greased 9x9-inch baking dish.
  • Make the Topping
In a separate bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add the cubed cold butter. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to blend until crumbly.
  • Assemble and Bake
Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the peach filling. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the top is golden and the peach mixture is bubbling.
  • Cool and Serve
Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, ideally topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Fresh peaches are best, but canned or frozen work too—just drain or thaw thoroughly to avoid excess moisture.
  • Use cold, cubed butter in the topping to create that golden, crumbly texture.
  • Add a touch of nutmeg or ginger for an extra layer of warm spice.
  • Don’t overmix
