Persian-style Tomato Avocado Salad, often known as "Shirazi Salad," is a refreshing and vibrant dish that combines the flavors of tomatoes, avocados, onions, and fresh herbs. Here's a simple recipe for making this delicious salad

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large tomatoes, diced
  • 1 ripe avocado, diced
  • 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cucumber, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped mintJuice of 1-2 limes or lemons
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, diced avocado, chopped red onion, diced cucumber, chopped parsley, and chopped mint.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the lime or lemon juice and olive oil. You can adjust the ratio of citrus juice and olive oil based on your taste preferences.
  • Pour the lime or lemon dressing over the salad ingredients.
  • Gently toss the salad to coat all the ingredients with the dressing. Be careful not to mash the avocado.
  • Season the salad with salt and pepper to taste. Start with a small amount and adjust as needed.
  • If using any optional additions like diced bell peppers, crumbled feta cheese, pomegranate seeds, or sumac, add them to the salad and gently mix.
  • Taste the salad and adjust the seasoning, acidity, and oil as desired.
  • Let the salad sit for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
