Instructions
 

Prepare the Puff Pastry

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.Lightly flour a work surface.Roll out the puff pastry sheet slightly.

Add the Filling

  • Spread pesto evenly over the pastry.Sprinkle Parmesan cheese across the surface.Add optional mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, or pine nuts if desired.

Roll and Chill

  • Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the pastry into a log.Wrap in plastic wrap.Refrigerate for 15 minutes to firm up.

Slice the Pinwheels

  • Remove the chilled roll from the refrigerator.Slice into ½-inch thick rounds.Place slices on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake

  • Brush tops lightly with beaten egg.Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.Remove from oven and cool slightly.

Serve

  • Garnish with fresh basil if desired.Serve warm or at room temperature.
