- 2–3 slices sharp cheddar or American cheese
- 4–6 dill pickle slices (or your favorite variety)
- 1 tablespoon butter

Heat a skillet over medium heat.
Butter one side of each bread slice.
Place one slice, butter side down, in the skillet.
Add cheese slices and arrange pickles evenly on top.
