Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound pork jowl
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh rosemary (optional, for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Pork Jowl:
    Clean and pat dry the pork jowl. Trim any excess fat if desired.
  • Season the Meat:
    In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Rub the seasoning mixture onto the pork jowl evenly.
  • Marinate (Optional):
    For deeper flavor, cover the seasoned pork jowl and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • Cook the Pork Jowl:
    Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the pork jowl in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until crispy and golden.
  • Rest the Meat:
    Remove the pork jowl from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve:
    Garnish with fresh rosemary and serve with lemon wedges for a zesty kick.

Notes

  • For an alternative cooking method, roast the pork jowl in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes.
  • Adjust the seasoning to your taste preference.
