- 1 ½ lbs chicken breasts or thighs
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 2 cans hominy, drained
- 8–10 tomatillos, husked
- 1 white onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 jalapeños or serrano peppers
- 1 cup fresh cilantro
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste

Boil chicken in broth until tender. Shred and set aside.
Boil tomatillos and peppers until softened.
Blend tomatillos, peppers, cilantro, garlic, and onion into a smooth sauce.
Heat oil in a pot. Add green sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
Pour in broth and hominy. Stir well.
Add shredded chicken. Season with oregano, salt, and pepper.
Simmer for 10 minutes.
Serve with cabbage, radishes, lime, and avocado.
