- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cans (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes
- 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
- 2 cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can black beans, drained
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
Brown the beef: In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Sauté the vegetables: Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook for 5 minutes until soft and fragrant.
