Ingredients
  

  • 2–3 kg pork shoulder or pork butt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • ½ cup water or broth

Instructions
 

  • Pat the pork dry and rub with oil.
  • Mix salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar.
  • Coat the pork evenly with the spice mixture.
  • Place pork in a slow cooker or roasting pan.
  • Add water or broth and cook on low heat for 6–8 hours until tender.
  • Remove pork and shred using two forks.
  • Mix with barbecue sauce if desired and serve warm.
