Ingredients
  

Brownie Layer

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup butter
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt

Pumpkin Layer

  • ½ cup pumpkin purée
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp ginger (optional)
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Melt chocolate chips and butter together until smooth.
  • Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Add flour, cocoa, and salt; mix until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, mix pumpkin purée, egg, brown sugar, spices, and vanilla.
  • Pour brownie batter into the pan.
  • Spoon pumpkin mixture on top and swirl gently with a knife.
  • Cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Do not over-swirl; distinct layers look better.
  • Use pure pumpkin purée, not pumpkin pie filling.
  • Let brownies cool fully for cleaner cuts.
  • Add extra chocolate chips for richer flavour.
  • Store in the refrigerator for best texture.
