Duck Fesenjan is a traditional Persian stew made with duck and walnut sauce.The sauce is flavored with pomegranate.It has a sweet and sour taste.The dish is slow cooked.It is rich and hearty.Usually served with rice.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 whole duck (cut into pieces)
  • 2 cups ground walnuts
  • 2 cups pomegranate juice
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 3 tbsp pomegranate molasses
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pot Brown duck pieces Remove and set aside.
  • Cook chopped onion until soft Add turmeric Stir well.
  • Add ground walnuts Add pomegranate juice Stir and simmer.
  • Add duck to sauce Add pomegranate molasses Simmer 1.5–2 hours.
  • Serve hot with rice Garnish with pomegranate.
