Ingredients
  

  • 300 g rigatoni pasta
  • 2 cups tomato sauce (high-quality crushed tomatoes or marinara)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons pasta cooking water

Instructions
 

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the rigatoni according to package instructions until al dente.
  • Reserve about ½ cup of pasta cooking water before draining the pasta.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  • Stir in the tomato sauce and chili flakes and let the sauce simmer for 10–12 minutes to develop flavor.
  • Add butter and stir until it melts and blends smoothly into the sauce.
  • Pour in a splash of pasta water and toss well to coat the pasta evenly.
  • Stir in grated Parmesan cheese and mix until the sauce becomes creamy.
  • Garnish with fresh basil and extra Parmesan before serving.
