For the Meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
For the Gravy:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- 2 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp flour
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt
Make the Meatballs: In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Shape into small meatballs.
Brown the Meatballs: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook meatballs until browned on all sides (about 5-7 minutes). Remove and set aside.
Prepare the Gravy: In the same pan, melt butter and sauté onions and mushrooms until soft. Sprinkle in flour and stir for 1 minute.
Add the Liquid: Slowly pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup, stirring constantly until smooth.
Simmer the Meatballs: Add the meatballs back into the pan, cover, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Serve & Enjoy: Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
