  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • cup
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or honey (to taste)
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 apple, chopped
  • 1 cup soda water or lemon-lime soda (for topping off)

Wash and slice the citrus fruits. Chop the apple into bite-sized pieces. Add all fruit to a large pitcher.
  • Mix the Base

  • Let it Chill
Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours to allow the flavours to meld.
  • 4. Serve and Top Off
When ready to serve, stir gently. Pour into glasses over ice, and top each glass with a splash of soda for fizz.

Notes

  • For a white version, use white wine like Sauvignon Blanc and skip red fruits.
  • Want it sweeter? Add fruit juice or more honey.
  • For a stronger drink, increase the amount of brandy.
  • Always chill before serving; the flavour improves with time.
  • You can prepare it a day in advance—the flavours get better overnight.
