  • 10–12 fresh jalapeño peppers
  • 250 g sausage (pork or chicken), casing removed
  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Black pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon paprika or chili powder (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Lightly grease a baking tray.
  • Slice jalapeños lengthwise and remove seeds and membranes.
  • In a pan, cook sausage over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and cool slightly.
  • In a bowl, mix cooked sausage, cream cheese, shredded cheese, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Spoon the mixture evenly into jalapeño halves.
  • Bake for 18–20 minutes until peppers are tender and filling is golden.
  • Serve warm.

Notes

  • Wear gloves while handling jalapeños to avoid skin irritation.
  • Removing all seeds reduces the heat level.
  • Let the filling cool slightly before stuffing.
  • Use fresh, firm peppers for best results.
  • These are best served hot or warm.
