Ingredients
  

  • 2 (15-ounce) cans navy beans or pork and beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Lightly grease a 2-quart baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the beans, chopped onion, ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and melted butter.
  • If using bacon, stir it into the bean mixture.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  • Bake uncovered for 50–60 minutes, stirring once halfway through cooking.
  • The beans are ready when the sauce has thickened and is bubbling around the edges.
  • Allow the baked beans to rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
