Ingredients

  • 1 bunch broccolini, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Boil water: Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Blanch broccolini: Add broccolini and cook for 2 minutes until bright green. Drain and pat dry.
  • Sauté: In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  • Toss broccolini: Add the blanched broccolini and cook for 3–4 minutes, tossing occasionally.
  • Season: Add lemon juice, salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.

Notes

  • Avoid overcooking to maintain broccolini’s bright color and crunch.
  • You can also roast broccolini at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes for a deeper flavor.
  • A drizzle of balsamic glaze adds a hint of sweetness.
  • For extra richness, sprinkle with grated Parmesan before serving.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat gently in a skillet.
