Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions
 

  • Wash and hull the strawberries.
  • Cut them into small pieces.
  • Place strawberries, sugar, and water in a saucepan.
  • Simmer over medium heat for 10–15 minutes.
  • Stir occasionally until the strawberries soften.
  • Mash them gently to release more juice.
  • Strain the mixture through a fine sieve.
  • Add lemon juice and stir well.
  • Let the syrup cool before transferring it to a bottle.

Notes

  • Fresh strawberries give the best flavor, but frozen berries also work.
  • Adjust sugar based on sweetness preference.
  • For a thicker syrup, simmer longer before straining.
