  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda (Sprite or 7UP)
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cut apples into eight equal wedges.
  • Wrap each apple slice in crescent dough and place in a greased baking dish.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg, then stir until combined.
  • Pour butter mixture over dumplings.
  • Pour soda around, not on top of dough.
  • Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  • Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
  • Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream for the best experience.

Notes

  • Do not pour soda directly on the dumplings.
  • Add chopped nuts for a crunchy finish.
  • Reduce sugar slightly if apples are very sweet.
  • Refrigerate leftovers and reheat gently.
