- 2 oz tequila (silver or reposado)
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1/2 oz fresh orange juice (or a splash of orange-flavored sparkling water)
- 1/2 oz agave syrup (optional for a touch of sweetness)
- 3-4 jalapeño slices (adjust to spice preference)
- 1 oz sparkling water (optional for a lighter version)
- Ice cubes
- Tajín or salt for rimming the glass
- Lime wedge and jalapeño slices for garnish
Muddle the Jalapeño:
In a cocktail shaker, add the jalapeño slices and fresh lime juice.
Muddle well to release the spicy flavors.
Mix the Margarita:
Add tequila, fresh orange juice, agave syrup (if using), and ice to the shaker.
Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
- Adjust spice levels by using more or fewer jalapeño slices.
- For an even lighter version, skip the agave syrup.
- Use reposado tequila for a smoother, slightly caramelized flavor.
