- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup chopped green onions (for garnish)
- Tortilla chips, bread, or crackers (for serving)
Cook the Beef:In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease. Sauté Aromatics:Add diced onion and garlic to the skillet, cooking until softened. Make the Sloppy Joe Sauce:Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, brown sugar, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add Cheese and Cream:Reduce heat to low and mix in cream cheese and sour cream until melted and smooth. Melt the Cheddar:Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until fully melted.
